I have been working on the Pirate & Parrot Art Project and thought you might like to see what I did.
The pirate's head, hands, and feet are made of Sculpey.
His body is cloth stuffed with fiberfill.
His hat is papier mache' covered with felt.
The parrot is papier mache' covered with feathers.
The treasure chest is also papier mache' with painted jewels.
The background is an acrylic seascape I did.

Thanks Pam :)
From the tip of his toe to the top of his head he is 21" tall :)

Thank You Lulu :)
Sculpey is a polymer ceramic-like sculpturing compound you 'bake' in your oven.
There is also a product called Cernit.
here is a web site for sculpey :)

Oh wow Leaflin, this is soooo cool!!! I want to have a rumage around in that treasure chest, search for goodies and gold (I've always had a fascination with treasure chests and the like:D lol, it's just the perfect "get rich quick" scenario)
ps, is there anything that you cant make? :D

pps, you'd make a fantasic art teacher. constantly stimulating your pupils with new ideas, getting them to think wide and wider still!
