Hello WC!ers.
I call this one "Bride In Training". I was drawn by her sweet face. I refocused her stare because I felt it added to the pensive moment.

Today a flowergirl... tomorrow a bride. Ahhhh...the sweet cycle of life.

Hi Joel.
Beautiful painting as always! Ah yes, sometimes that cycle of life spins way too fast for me.

I always enjoy your work and this one is no exception but I think the bodice of her dress in back needs a bit of definition to explain her body position, and separate that area from the skirt.

JCoop! Freakin sweet. What a wonderful use of color and you have a very painterly approach to Painter. I could never get use to Painter. Excellent work.

Sherry, the cycle is too fast sometimes. I look at my little boy and I can't bare to think that one day soon I won't be able to pick him upside down and spin him around and hear his giggly screams.
Thanks for the advice about the dress. You are always so sharp!

Van, thanks for the exhuberant thumbs up! I'm glad you like the color. This is a technique that I call "Virtual Oil"... Sherry and Jean can attest to the fact that I have been working on this technique for quite sometime. Thanks again!

Jean, it's always nice to hear from you. I don't know about perfection, but I thank you for your great compliment. I love the things you are doing too.

Joel treasure evey single moment you can with your boy! A bit of advice from one who well knows the regret of losing too many of them. Now, even my grandchildren are almost grown and at the stage of discovering their independance. I know it's the way life is meant to be but my it can be so sad sometimes. It's hard to convince a 6'4' teen to sit on your lap. LOL

Sherry, I know what you mean... I have a 22 year old, who is a senior in college, we can't hang up the phone without saying I love you's. It's a reflex... even when he's around his "cool" friends. He's not embarrassed by it at all. I think ,god willing, we will be saying I love you's when I'm an old man.

It does happen Joel, my 4 g/sons of the ripe old ages of 19 to 21 still sign off with a "love ya" , even if it is just habit :D and when they bring the gals to the old peoples house to visit well I think I have it made rofl

Joel! WOW! How do you have time to do all this work? You did a nice job on this one of course.
I think Chiers had a good point about trying to define the body position (but I don't know how). The photo was taken from an awkward spot to translate it again to another 2 dimensional piece. You have perfectly represented the proportion of the photo and I confess I don't know what else you can do. It's all you have to work with.
Stunning color AGAIN.
Man, I love your portraits.

This is wondeful Joel! I saw this pic in the library and thought what a great painting it would make and you did it!!

O love the cloudiness of her skirt which looks like it was tough to do. And you did a super job on her eyelashes. All that practice paid off!

Great job, congrats!
