This is great work! what makes you so compelled to paint marbles lately? are they challenging, or easy, or is it the great effect you get when they are put to canvas? are you doing a series?

I love shiny sparkly glass of any kind. Marbles come in so many different combinations of color. It is challenging to paint....to try to capture that roundness...the colors and swirls. And easy as in terms of they are round shapes *LOL*
I like the effect yes. I do have a series started with these marbles. Some much larger...and one mini. I am attempting to sell them on Ebay.

I like them all - juicy, liquid, tasty! I think you've mastered the marble.

the other ones have more marbellous shadows
but these are marbellous themselves.
can you make the shadows more interesting too?
you are going all the way now.

you have rendered the glass magnificently - gloss, transluscence, reflection - it's all there

I like the subject ...but where is the cat's eye? Those are the best-- I love the surface of the marbles-- but, for some reason, the surface they are sitting on seems like "over kill" perhaps a rough surface to make some contrast?

Just a thought...

Gilberte...thank you! *LOL* does it really give you vertigo to look at these marbles?

Thanks Bloodjelly.....ever think about changing your handle? *LOL*

Jerry....roundish in form but static in intent

TScott....each new marble gets easier to do.

Pam...I lost mine years ago...maybe that is why I paint them

Futurebird...cats eyes are my favorites also. I have a few running around here somewhere. The surface is a shiny white surface (my freezer top) :D

What a great series! Someone should buy all three :D Glass is hard to paint and you have mastered it.

To follow up on Jerry's comment.............marbellous, marbellous :D :p :D
