Hi all - I'm on a lentil high. :D I wasn't having much luck (think I said that the other day) but I'm finally turning out nice beads. Having fun - I'm out of that awful funk!
Hitting the torch after hospice this morning and then this afternoon - either out on our little boat or a movie. Looks too nice for a movie.
Enjoy! :D

Hey ya Ellen!! I am off to a staff meeting in a few....then an exam in Economics (yukola) ....then back to work for more fun! Those lentils.....are difficult to get the hang of...but once you do...there is no turning back  I still have good days and bad days with them....it is sort of a love / hate relationship...LOL
My baby turned 17 yesterday...... :crying: (wait...I am happy..one more year then they are all adults and I can kick em out of the house..LMAO!!!) Nawwww....I would miss em all too much. I had the weirdest dream last night...I dreamed that they all 3 died......I woke up about 5am to use the potty and as I was walking to the potty......my brain is still thinking the dream is real.......I was crying and thinking....how will I ever live without them........then I realized it was just a dream.......boy was I happy about that!!! Now I am just hoping that the dream was a metaphor type....just my deep emotions about them growing up and leaving me....not that they are all actually going to die!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful day!! (I am sporting my hospice polo shirt today Ellen :D)

Good Morning Everyone.
Ellen have fun with those lentils. I haven't made one since we finished the lentil excahnge.
Katie good luck with your exam. My brain hurts just thinking about it.
I'm working again today in case they call me off the waiting list for the Ann Arbor art Fair. I found out that there has to be 37 cancelations by next Monday (thats where I am on the list) before they would call me.
Last year they had so many artists cancel I would be in it by now but this year no one is canceling. I think its the economy. Shows have been terrible all year for most people. No one has run out of stock and they need every show they can get. Oh well, I'll try to be ready if they call me but its really starting to look unlikely :(
Have a great day everyone!
Good morning to you!
Ellen...Glad to hear the lentiling is going well. I'd love to see some of your beads someday. Sounds like the boat might win out today. Hope you have a great time....
Katie...I'm SOOOO glad to hear your dream wasn't real! What an awful dream! I have three children too & can't imagine what I'd do without them. I dreamt once that my husband's head fell off, but I fixed it with Velcro & all was fine. When I told my DH about it he just shook his still-attached head. He's quite used to my completely off the wall dreams. And Economics? Ugh...just thinking about the test you have to take makes me shiver. Good Luck!!! I'm sure you'll do great!
Diane....So sorry about the fair list. That must be disappointing. It must be a huge gathering.
My DH is home sick today with a cold & my cowboys are having a friend over for the day. I'll do some more practice beadies & work on the usual laundry & house stuff...nothing exciting. It's supposed to rain here so maybe I'll get out & weed part of my garden before it gets drenched. I do hope you all have a great day.

Morning All,
Ellen, glad the beads are coming out round and true for you again. Those bead funks are ugly!!!! Have fun!
Katie, boy I remember taking exams not that long ago and having kids at home to worry about. I graduated when I was 45, so I can relate. That dream would spook me, but you must have faith!!!
Diane, Hope you can bump up and get into Ann Arbor. I wish I had your work habits.
Me, I am off to make some beads, clean a little house, and travel to the lake this evening to do some more cleaning. We finally have it dried out, and are wiping it all down with anti-odor/fungus stuff. Then it's time to install the new carpeting and linoleum. Hopefully in a couple of weeks we can actually stay overnight before the summer is through.
Take care everyone, enjoy your day and pass the daily :D (not dilly) around.

Morning!
Skies are overcast here today. we are leaving soon to take my son to Blue Lake Arts Camp. He's supposed to go for two sessions, back to back. We'll get to see him for a couple days in between, but it is a long time, almost a month, without him! Guess I should start getting used to it, I know he will go away to college in a few years. We spent the evening shopping for all his gear. The "list" they sent required 2 weeks worth of underwear. Sheesh, that is what probably cost the most.
Anyway, that's what we are doing today.
Ellen, the boat sounds like fun and those lentils are so fun when you get the hang of them!
Katie, I have dreams like them sometimes, about certain family members, but not all at once. I'm sure it is just your subconscious coming through about them growing up and eventually leaving the nest. Econ, I was never very good at that, maybe if I had shown up for class more, lol!
Diane, it could happen, don't give up hope!
Janie, well, I hope you don't catch that cold and that the weeds pull out like butter!
Happy Torching, fusing, blowing, etc...!

Morning ALL!
Ellen, God bless you for doing the Hospice thing. You have more courage and compassion than I. Glad you're out of the funk, wish I were.
Katie, good exam wishes to you. Your dream sounds very scary and I'm sure you were thinking about your babies flying the coop one day.
Diane, hang in there kiddo. There are 7 more days of hoping, no?
Janie, take care of the "big baby", they're the worst aren't they when they're sick?
Dilly, sure I can't pass around a Dilly??? LOL! :D
Maria, sounds like a lot of work to get him ready for camp. 2 weeks of undies, sheesh! ;)
It's gorgeous here today, I can see the ridge and the mountain behind me. No fog or low lying clouds to make it disappear. Need to get on the torch more, too many things in this dang house it seems.
Have a great day and here's my "Dilly"!:D

Slipping in to say good morning before Paula and the girls wake up for their last day here.. So hello my friends! I can't believe how fast the week has gone - we haven't done nearly all we had planned on..... We did get Brenna's room painted and redone! Holy cow is it cool! Today Paula and I are sneaking out for a little us time at the mall. I found an ad for a gallery co-op that's moving into the mall - we're going to check that out plus hit the JJill sale...
Hope you're all doing well - I promise I'll catch up tomorrow after they leave... :( Have a great Wednesday! :D:D

Morning!!!!!
Wow I haven't posted in a few days and I wish I could say I have been real productive but to be honest I haven't been just gotten up way to late to post.
Just booked my flights for the end of the month to St. Louis, my Uncle is a big Bee hive farmer and he's going to show me the ropes. . . My husband is not real happy about this  he hates bees. I don't know if it's something I'll get into or not, but he's getting older (my Uncle) and I think because none of his daughters are interested he's worried that he won't have someone to pass it on to. My name does stand for Bee. . .
Oh well. .
Diane, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you but I think you are right about the fewer cancellations than normal. I'm scheduled for a few shows and had really debated whether to do them or not and decided to and found out that I dissapointed a number of people who were waiting for an opening. But I'm just sure you will get in. (fingers crossed:)
Maria - Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp brings back such great memories, all three of my children went there. It was such a great experience for them.
Ellen - I know what you mean with the lentil thing. . one day I'm flying high and the next day I'm not. . . there is no regular pattern for me there.
For all the rest who I haven't mentioned have a wonderful day, Oldest GD is coming over and we are setting a tent up in the front yard. . .I hope the ground is softer than I recall.
:)
Hugs to all
Debbie

Good morning all!
Ellen, I had lentils "click" for me last week. It was so fun! I went from the wrong amount of glass every time, to all but one turning out during that torch session. Now I'm just hoping it's not a fluke!
Katie, what a frightening dream. On occasion I dream that I can't find my daughters. I have to go somewhere safe because something very bad is going to happen (fire, earthquake, monsters) and I have them with me and I'm taking them to safety. They they aren't there and I can't find them. The panic as I look for them, knowing they are scared and in danger is awful. I have awakened crying, and have had to go check on them to make sure they are here! I believe it is a "mommy thing." We are so responsible for them for so long, that when we get stressed (like an exam??) we dream about not having kept them safe. But that is just how I interpret my dreams, lol.
Diane, there is still time!
Janie, a sick hubby is the worst. DH had muscles spasms that kept him home from work for a week (first pain, then no driving because of the meds). Last night on the phone I was still getting heavy sighs because he was tired and his back hurt. Ok-I get it! If he keeps it up I'm going to pull out my 2 pregnancies-2 C-secions trump card!!
Dilly, I was looking forward to Pass the Dilly! I thought it would be a natural follw-up after the Chinese Auction!
Maria, lots of work! but think of all you can get done while he's gone! Small consolation, but still!
Lenda, don't you hate it when things get in the way? Just remember, all that stuff will wait if you sneak a few hours on the torch! Creativity is good for your soul. It will refresh you for the next task. You need to take care of yourself to take care of the rest well. (Do I need to toss in some more justifications?) :D
Lois, you need to share pictures of your goodies!
Have a great day all!

Good morning!
Another quick fly-by...woke up late, but did have my walk. I'm taking my son back to the doctor today. He's got mono, but now has developed a rash over every inch of his body. We think it's just another mono symptom, but want to be sure. Poor kid, his birthday is Friday....no parties this year, just a quiet cake and ice cream deal, if he can swallow...not a happy camper!
Hope you all are having a good day!

Oh, poor boy! I've had mono---TWICE! You know that part where they say you can't catch it again? Well, it seems there is a possibility that you could have a relapse years later. Or it could be you can catch it again. It all depends on which doctor you talk to.
It will stink to make it a quiet birthday, but the "kissing disease" isn't near as funny as the nickname it was given. It can be serious! Better quiet and healthy and being able to make up for it later when he has all his stamina back!

Hiiiiii!!! Wow, what a gorgeous morning up here in mountains... 55 degrees, a little bit of fog, making everything look a bit Middle-Earth-Like, but nice and cool! Yay!
Oooh, just having way too much fun with the copper leaf I got from Frantz two weeks ago, and now ordering some more fun stuff today... Made some GORGEOUS pendants with the copper leaf, ran into the house the other night to take a break and grab a drink of water, and cackled at my husband, "I am a Glass Goddess!!!!" He said, "Yeah, uh-huh, whatever you say, sweetie..." :D
My friend's son had mono about a year and a half ago, the poor kid, they kept diagnosing it as other things until she finally found a doctor that got it right!!! He was totally punked out for months, but by the fall he was ready to go back to being on the soccer team, being in the school musicals, etc. Better to rest up!!!
