You've done a great job of capturing that 'silver lining'.... I think the tall format is wonderful... I feel that a big part of marine paintings is capturing the size of the ocean, sky, etc. You've done this very well...

Thanks to all for taking a look and saying lovely things! ...and to Marty for the invite!

A note on the vertical format: For some pieces, depending on the effect I'm looking for, I go for vertical, as the perspective on the clouds becomes more dramatic. The color temperature of the clouds change as well, not to mention value and atmosphere. This adds to the sense of space that Diane speaks of. I'm big on atmospheric effects; I like people looking at the work and believing they could fall into it. Wear your life preservers! :D
