Greetings IA gang,
I wanted to post my first try at a printmaking monotype in this group as it has much spiritual significance for me. I used oil pastel crayon on a sheet of frosted mylar (as my printing plate). I then transferred to Rives BFK paper using a heavy mist of turpentine for the solvent transfer. C-ano

This is stunningly strong as a monotype. I'm a printmaker also and moderator of the forum here on WC! I have not been in there for a day so I hope you posted it in there too.
One of the things that I like is the fact that you did not feel the need to cover the whole paper, and the white areas within the piece only enhance the print. Your composition is very interesting in perspective and the subject speaks for itself. I like this.
very clever and very emotive..love that strong red..
you lost me on the method!:D:D I just love that hint of pink here and there..sort of glows

Ohmygosh! That is very cool. I've never seen anything like it, and certainlly don't feel qualified to comment in any way other than a big hearty "I LIKE that!"

love your technique of this.
I would hope that you might explain more in a step by step...or even consider one day a published article "how-to" here at Wetcanvas.
IF you could for now detail the steps though, I'd appreciate it.
I do a basic typical acrylic plastic dry point etch type print with teens, and am always interested in learning newer unique methods for attaining neat results such as this!

I'd also be interested in learning more about your technique. Maybe it is my monitor, but the background has an almost frottage look. I just love that. Very beautiful piece indeed.

I've always admired those who do monotypes and other prints but never had the desire to try them. This piece which is very powerful, may just change my mind.
