I get to start today....wow!

Here's one I'm particularly proud of. It's a basic organic done with dark ivory and thin silver strips with dichroic added on top. There's dicro on the spacers too, but I couldn't position it so everything reflected color at the same time. The first time I took it out to show it off, someone asked to buy it! :D

I also wanted to mention that I took this picture with my new video cam, which does a better job of taking close-ups than my 2 digital cameras do. I can focus as close as 2" away from an object, and I love the snapshot feature.

Absolutely grogeous!! I can't believe you're up and posting so late . . . Of course I also can't believe I am up and reading, and posting so late . . . .must go to bed, I'll have nice ivory dreams now, though! Thanks!! :)

I'm in a mad frenzy to get my store stocked up for the fall season. I'm obsessed with having an inventory over 100 items and I've dropped drastically! Time to buckle down and get to work!

Kay, the dichro organic is beautiful. And Tracey, I love the powdered sugar look on the black & white set!

I finally played with some soft glass the last few days. Here's a set with bright Effetre Coral, Lauscha purple and silvered Ivory.

Kay - wow, the dichro, ivory and silver give a really romantic look, really wonderful

Tracey, love the third set, especially the blue and rose colored beads.. what size bead press did you use for those? It's perfect

Sonya, love the purple and coral together, added with the silvered ivory really makes it pop.

4 1/2 months of lampworking.. :) I decided to try some stringer control and while doing that made a varigated stringer, Corinna said she also teaches it in her class.. I would love that! Here's my version.. using coral, peachy coral, pea green and periwinkle on a dark yellow bead. The green just always seemed to take control.. and yes I don't have stringer control down yet.. but it was fun

http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/12-Jul-2004/34343-varigatedstringer.jpg

This is a bead using frit on a base of white.. I call it mosaic..my brother calls it a hickory nut.. :D I still love him. I'm having trouble finding colors that are muted.. but not too muted.. is that asking too much?

aurora yellow frit, with encased stringer for vine and periwinkle, fushia, opaque something.. for flowers.

Kay - That set is very pretty, I can see why someone would want to buy it as soon as you took it out.

Josie - That first set when I saw it, reminded me of oreos and milk, you know the milk gets the oreo crumbs all through when you dunk them. ;) The second set, is a great colour combination, ink blue, copper green and lavender? The last set has a very subtle elegance and softness to it. I'm sure your inventory will come along great!

Sonya - that set is very yummy, I really like the way the colours work together.

Steph - that verigated stringer looks pretty cool. And your little floral is very pretty as well, Keep working at it and it will all fall together, as I can see already greatness for you.

Here is what I have been working on all weekend. Three sets, completed black and white commission necklace, a hopefully completed multi colour commission, and a green dots commission.

Then some more easter grass beads, cause when I went to a jewelry fair yesterday, I met a lady who was really impressed with them in my easter lillies and easter grass bracelets. So it got me back on the idea of making more of them.

You all are a hard act to follow this morning! Such scrumptious beads! I have a bad case of press envy...I want to make square beads!! :crying: Or round or triangle...LOL

Tracey: Wow!! Awesome!! How did you do the round tabs? Is that Corina's bead press? I love all the colors!!

Steph: the colors in your beads really speak to me--yummy! The floral is lovely!

Kay--great job on the dichro! I'm too chicken to touch the stuff.

Sarah--wow, you've been busy! I'm sure your customers will be thrilled, I would be!

Nursekatie: very pretty! I'll have to check out your website!

Sonya: Such gorgeous colors...amazing...they are dreamy!

Anyway, it has been probably 10 months since I had anything to show here, besides some beads I made for Christmas presents. I'm so happy to be making beads again...

Here is a set I put together for ebay. I've been wanting to make a set with these colors for a long time. I wanted more of a honey look...I will try again. I like how this turned out, though! I also really like the bronzy spacers--they are the Czech bronze shampoo glass. I also did some hand-mixing for a darker ivory color and made a twistie with different ambers. It was so much fun! It makes me so happy that I can still make a decent bead after all this time!

BTW, I was gone because I taught HS spanish this past year. It took ALL my free time. But I am switching to Library Science this fall!! I already have a position as Librarian for 2 elementary schools...I can hardly wait! :) :) And since I won't have any papers to grade, maybe...just maybe...I will have time for glass too.

Oh yeah, the beads:
(sorry for the dark pictures...they originals are on a different computer so I captured these off of ebay)

Everyone was hard at work yesterday and the creative juices were flowing!!
Beautiful beads! Kay, love the dichro on ivory and Sonya, nice to see the soft glass beads from you, just as beautiful as your boro!

I keep getting requests for clown fish so I finally made one saturday, sold it that afternoon (on necklace) so I made two more yesterday.
Have a great monday!

Great Beads, Artists!! Sonya, I've been meaning to use those same colors...you beat me to it. I don't get any more money for embellishing my beads for eBay, but I have more fun, w/o bleaching my hair :) I dyed this lace to nestle this rose. Love, Helen

Beautiful Helen, so feminine! :)

Here are a couple photographed so far of the 20 or so focals I made during our open torch at the PA Guild of Craftsmen this last Thur and Fri. It was exhausting, but a lot of fun too! All Gaffer 96coe cane and frit. Val

Really nice everyone!!! Wow!

Here is a little set that I just put up on ebay. A fabvorite combo with copper green and edp. I added clear dots where the copper green separates into turquoise for extra sparkle. The little cones are made with Corina's Madonna Bra Bead stamp- I love that tool!

Pretty beads today. Val, I love it when you get to go torch and we get to see your beads. They draw you into them and make you want to look around in there and see what all you were doing.

Everyones beads are wonderful. Here are a few I might put on ebay. I finally like the pictures and I think it's due to the beige felt I used as a backround. I forgot to take a picture with a dime for sizing though and now I have to hope for a sunny day tommorrow.

Thank you guys!! The idea came to me when my kids were eating Oreos and milk. :p LOL! They are made with Corina's tab press which I hated at first but adore now. Amazing how you warm up to something when you figure out how to use it. :D The pillows are made with the small Zoozii press (15mm.) and they are my latest addiction. Perfect for wearing and they don't distort the design much when smooshing. I just keep telling myself I have enough tools so I don't need to buy anymore.   I am trying to pay bills. :p
