Just a question: what is the dark/black strip in the lower left hand corner?
It distracts the eye from the beautiful dead tree...

A spooky tree trying to tell me something but I don't speak his language !
Special, disconnected but interesting.

Wonderful! How did you like working En Plein Aire? I had to smile seeing a landscape posted by you...you are an intriguing woman. I like all your Van Gogh-ish brush work lots...and it does seem that the black strip detracts as it appears to be a much darker value than the rest...but is that so with the real work or just a digital thing?

I like the angle you've chosen for your P.O.V and the colors. My suggestions are to lighten up the black area as already mentioned, separate the dead tree more from the leafy background, and give it an indication of roots or contact with the ground. Is it easier for you to paint indoors or out? Anyway nice painting.
