Both are nicely done, my personal favorite is the second. It looks as though you are poised to start painting and are obviously happy about that.

Both skillfully done. Like the limited pallette. Facial expressions nicely portray mood. The first pose seems a bit more relaxed.

Absolutely great, both of them ... my personal preference goes to the second one ! Also like the frame, very artistic ;)

Michael-Ann and Dana : of course he's married, that "pinnafore" is too clean !

Joe. These pictures, both, can't decide which one I like best are just great, I would like to ask, did you sketch them out first? The details of the hards are what amaze me, I have trouble with hands.. well I have trouble...ha but I just wanted to say I think these portraits are some that we all can learn from thanks for posting :) Janice

Both of them have a lot of depht and a great mood! I really like the way that the light shifts from blue to yellow.

thanks ,no I don't sketch first ,put down paint and move it around,going from a thin first application to thicker ones
as I continue.
