an aside: wouldn't it be cool to see a woodcarving of a woodcarver carving wood, especially if the piece the little wooden woodcarver is carving is a miniature of the actual art piece? kind of a wooden, still-life fractal no? or like MC Eschers pictures w/in pictures, ad infinitum?
anyway, just thinking aloud-- like a splinter in my mind...

Very nice, love the pose and the look on his face.
What kind of grain if any does bass wood show? Thinking of using bass wood on a new sculpture idea.
And yes please show us more.

Edmond...welcome and what a great opening work. I greatly admire the ability to 'take away' material. Of course, I hate you at the same time.:D If I cannot 'add' material after I've totally screwed up a work I would be totally lost. Thanks for posting and hurry back!!!!:)

This is a lovely piece. Great job on the textures. I like this just as it is. You have just enough texture to make it interesting but not busy!! Bravo on a beautiful piece! Basswood is so nice to work with, eh? Hope you to see more soon please.
