What a wonderful picture! You've captured the 'comfortableness', if I can call it that , between rider & horse...which is not always apparent. And added colour too!

Wonderful! Makes me miss my horse and showing so much! I really need to go dig up the first one you did so I can refresh my memory as to how you do these, you're inspiring me to take a shot at colour. (Something that makes me very nervous! lol) There is a beautiful, unique softness to these...
I do think her helmet is off a touch, just that there's a bit too much on the left. (Her right) Of course, it's not a big deal, and you probobly have it right on with the reference photo, but not having the reference photo it's something I see.
Can't wait to see your next one. :D

Thanks Depat. Comfortableness sounds fine to me :p
Tentative. Thanks! I took another look and you are so right!
Looks like she has the helmet nearly sideways

This is so beautiful. Horses would be great to draw (I'll have to try it sometime). You've done a great job and the colors are just gorgeous!

hello
well done! that picture is stunning! I was wondering if you just used colour pencils? and when you started the lighting and shading on the face, did you start with a light colour then layer or how did you achieve it? I am trying to perfect my horse drawing skills so sorry about all the questions :)

Eeek... I hope I didn't go too far saying so... :( I've just been inspired by the recent "Critique" thread to say what I see... As I said, I don't really think it's a big deal. I think this work is absolutely beautiful!

Tentative..... I appreciate the comments. I always forget to put "c&c welcome" but that is why I'm posting them here. Thankyou! :)
horsecrazycourts... The colour thing is very new to me. My last 3 threads have been decribing my exploration (and excitment) of brushing pastel dust onto the graphite drawing. I'm loving it! I only have a 12 piece set at this point so I think I'll have to go out and invest in a larger range. :D
