Have you ever used any image that you liked the colors in, and distorted/ gooed/ swirled it beyond recognition...then view it through childlike eyes of 'seeing shapes of animals or whatever in the clouds'? There was a particular shape that set me off on this large pot, and the colors looked like a southwestern palette...so, I freehanded by painting all of this, and ended up with this. I like doing paintings sometimes without having a reference picture or not having any particular direction of subject to go for. Definitely lots of fun. Sometimes it ends up a mess, and other times, you jus' like it!

Very nice Barb! I agree it is fun not "wing it" sometimes and see what one comes up with. You really have captured that South West "feel" here.
