View Full Version : Codi Vignette 061904

Codi. Vignette. Two pretty words that go together so well.
I finished this in less then 2 hours. Write that down. I finished it. A rarity for me.
I also learned something this time. I learned that it takes less time to draw a small picture of Codi then it does to roast a 22 pound turkey. Not a useful lesson I admit.
Various hardness pencils. Mead Sketch Diary. About six by four inch.

Oh AJ, this is such a lovely drawing. I love the sparkle you put in Codi's eyes. She has such a wonderful expression on her face. Great job!

You've captured her expression beautifully- slightly coy, slightly mischevious, and all carefree wonder. Terrific drawing.

( P.S. Of course during that time you could've rotated 4 tires and bought a turkey sandwich. :p )

Lol, AJ! Great sketch- congrats for finishing it!
How was the turkey? You now know to keep a sketchbook handy next time you cook a turkey. :D

You have really captured her character here. And completed a drawing, and learned something, and cooked a turkey, talk about multi-tasking, good for you.

Thanks guys.
Once the turkey was in the oven there was nothing else to do for 5 hours so I did the Codi picture then hit the chat room for a few hours.

Some day I will be brave to draw person and post it. I am impressed with the hair especially, the lost and found edges.

Turkey bastings are not a wet medium- hope you didn't get any juice on this lively, lovely portrait of a young lady on the verge of teenagerhood (is that a word?) ;)
You've really brought out so much personality, and this is a beautiful graphite sketch! Way to go, AJ !!!

Thank you very much for drawing a wonderful picture of Codi. She'll love it. You've captured her "look" very nicely -- and yes, the "eyes" have it - they look great. She's a bit older now - 16 - and turning into a beautiful young woman! (sorry, it a mother's right to brag ...)

Great sparkle in her eyes, plus good job on the perspective! Nicole
