This is watercolor on a scrap of arches 8 x 12. The fish was cute but I thought I'd focus in on her smiling face to save time. It's not an exact likeness partially due to time but I hope Codi likes it anyway. :)
P.S. Sorry about the blurriness. I will try to get a better scan and/or digital pic of this tomorrow.

Hi Kathy, she is a bit pixelated but what a great expression and you catured the light across her face beautifully as well as her skin tones. Wish my scrap papers came out like this. LOL.
Lovely painting I'm sure Codi will love it.

Hi, Kathy. Nice, solid drawing skills. I like the varied pallette of colors and the confident application of paint. Her hair and arm (right to the highlight on her shoulder) seem especially well done.

The fish was cute?
I don't know about that but your likeness of Codi is cute. And impish. Love the colors.

Wonderful Kathy, you have captured Codi's freshness and joy and just plain happiness with life. Fantastic job.

I like the sunny, summery look here. It's very pixellated, but even that looks cool.
You captured the expression of joy on her face, the summer light on her skin and did well with the shadows.

Wish I could see it better - the colors look very sunny and it looks like you captured her likeness very well!
Very nice painting, Kathy. You've created a wonderful piece of art! You've captured Codi's expression, and the colouring is nice. I'm sure Codi is going to be happy when she sees her own face recreated by "an artist". When you do scan it again, I would love to see it.

Looks great from here! Wow, some of you guys are really brave to tackle these sun-drenched faces! Very cool, indeed!

Pixelated does look cool, but when I squinted, the colours blended together better and I got a feel for the smoothness of watercolour and it's a wonderful little painting of a really cute kid. Sun-drenched- excellent description !!

I think its great Kathy. I couldn't even begin to do this in watercolor. While it may not be an exact likeness one would certainly know it's her.
