Had trouble connecting to WC! this pm, but success at last!!!!!!
Acrylic, 2hrs, 7x10ins - had fun! :)
Lovely pics - hard choice but liked this and thought acrylics would be quick.
No time to look at others yet but will be back later.
I see it's scanned darker than IRL - colours should be brighter and there are a lot more greens in the tree than appear here! Honestly! :p

I see the greens! This one looks ready for a frame- it's really lovely!

A popular image, and no wonder. This rendition is very quiet even with the warm colors.

Even more beautiful than the photograph !

Hi, Maureen. You've done a painting that's good in every aspect. That isn't easy to do. The sky glows with color...the light lavander water is amazing...the tree foliage is very natural looking ( love the sky holes)...the beach is textured and varied in color...the figures appear relaxed and real.

If the colors are brighter IRL then I'm absolutely sure that this is gorgeous. Way to go!

Maureen this is absolutely exquisite. I absolutely LOVE everything about it. Beautiful sky colors, your people are great, your tree and sand marvelous. This is just really really great.
I agree with all here, super painting! The sky is glowing, the tree is just right, I love the glints of light on the beach and the water lapping onto shore.

Thank you so much for your exceedingly generous comments - I'd like to thank you individually but, at the moment, dinner calls - plus a phone call to my beautiful niece who has just received her degree results, which are very good - so we're all immensely proud! :D

Maureen, this is such eye-candy !! I really love the gently illuminated sides of the figures as the final sunlight retreats, and I swear I can actually hear the gentle lapping of those waves on the lakeshore. My monitor shows lots of nice greens on the tree too. A bang-up good job ! I hope you're well chuffed

I really like your interpretation of this photo. Your sunset sky is lovely and I can almost hear the waves lapping on the beach (I had real problems painting those!). I like the way the colours all work together to unify the whole painting.
