Hey Natalie, nice going, I think you've captured the Slim Shady narrow eye stare :) I look forward to seeing how it progresses. I've always hated working eyes in deep shadow, if you're not careful you can get lost with what goes where, but light and shade make for the most dramatic portraits. :)
Hey natalie--great start--the eyes definitely have it. Is this a graphite piece--it looks like a wash so I was wondering what you are using and what kind of paper. Very nice!

Natalie,
I am not a fan of Eminem, but your drawing is great!

Thanks Z, JayD and Elf!
Jay D I'm using graphite and charcoal, on ordinary A3 drawing paper, What is a wash? (can you tell I've just started out?) LOL! Thanks for your kind words!
The question is Z, did I do okay with the dark eye? Even on the ref pic theres only a glint there and only the slight line where the pupil is. It was hard!
I've drawn a lot more now, but haven't got round to taking a picture, will post one ASAP! I'm saving the Bandana till last, or I'm going to smudge the charcoal.

Hi Natalie, perhaps a little too early to tell, but I think once you complete the shadows under the eye and down the darker edge of the face, it will along fall in place. :)

Hi Z, I'm working on it, plus it is a lot darker in real life than it is on the picture, my camera doesn't pic up the detail very well. Heres the update, still alot to do, but I am quite pleased with the likeness, I still need to work on the tracksuit thing, so the creases look realistic, any tips?

Shading's looking great Natalie, there's a good selection of tones in there, and don't worry about the photo quality, I think most people know that a camera doesn't do a piece of art justice. ;)
I'm sure you won't have any problems with creases, just observe carefully and follow what you see.
