This is great! An ingenius idea! Did you have a reference? Did you get this idea from somewhere or is it your own? The, visual impact is to me at least very strong and very clear thanks to the lighting around the cross. The figure of Christ himself is great, as is the heaving sea. Well done. I'd love to see more like it.

Thanks for your kind words. The idea isn't mine, it came to me during Praise and Worship one Sunday morning and wouldn't go away. I made the original sketch on the back of my song sheet, came home made the drawing and two days later it was as you see it, in watercolor. I had no reference or even a model. It had to come entirely from heart and mind.

I don't get it, would you tell us a little more about it, please?

There are several possibilities: 1. The Storm and rough seas are the storms of life. Christ is reaching down to pull the man out of it and to himself. 2. The sea points out the morass of sin and again the Christ is pulling him up, rescuing him from Hell. 3. It is largely symbolic and esoteric and not really explainable. My view is #'s 1 & 2. The deeper meaning is spiritual and iis decernable only spiritually. It sounds like tail chasing but it is the best we can do on the spur of the moment. Bottom line: it isn't easy to give an idea about it.
