Ok, ok, I'll post my darned painting! I started way too small for the subject, then used every medium I own, including digital since the photo was even worse than the painting. I managed to push all the life out of that lovely photo. :p
If I make it small enough maybe the bad drawing won't show lol.
I may just try this one again, plus have my eye on another.
Super images, Li!

Great job Wendy - I don't see anything not to like about this one - those chairs were something to do - and you did a great job on them.

Hey Wendy, I'm so happy this was waiting for me when I came back from my hike. I'm afraid I don't see what you don't like about the drawing. I love that you pushed the colors further especially in those yummy shadows. This was my favorite of all the Bodie shots and you've done a beautiful job.

Wendy, you need a self-assurance class or something...this came out lovely! I NEVER could have done furniture, let alone all those cupboards in 2 hours!

Sundiver, I do like this. It has a warm cozy homey feeling to it. So what if the drawing is a bit off, you have conveyed homeyness and that is important. I like it.

Very nice, Wendy. Those chairs are neat and have real character. Since you said it was too small, the perfect little setting on the table caught my eye. Good job.

I think this little painting is great. How could those people long ago abandon such a nice table and chairs!

I looked at the picture before I read your words, and then when I did read, couldn't believe we were perusing the same painting. The painting I see is beautiful, full of shadows and light, story after story going on here. In fact, seeing this painting is when it hit me, about the sudden leaving of the place, that someone just up and walked out and could leave it like that. :crying:
I doubt highly that making it tiny for posting "fixed" it all- I do believe that it's leagues better than you think !!!

I think the composition and the close cropping works really well and the colours work wonderfully together. I really get a feeling that someone has just got up and left.

I love to see how so many people treat the same reference differently - and yours is great! I like your use of colors especially and your crop!

The back of the right chair does seem off, but everybody is right, the color and crop on this is great.

What size is "way too small"? I think this is just right....what could have been clutter looks just perfect the way you did it...love those shadow colors!
