This is Prismacolor on Strathmore 11"x14", light biege.......... two hours worth.......... I still have work to do to finish this piece......... more layers to put on........ I'm liking the composition...... I decided to take out all of the other buildings except the church............. I need to work on the sky, too......... another WDE full of great choices in pictures.......

You have such patience but it sure pays off in CP's. Can't wait to see this develop. I like that you removed all the extraneous buildings, it captures the real isolation of the place. Like the wispy clouds forming too !

This is lovely what you have here already..... would love to see this when you have finished ...... will you post the finished works here?

I guess the vote is unanimous - we all want to see it when you're finished - I like the comp, simple, clean lines -

At this stage, it really has that washed out intense Sierra kind of light. This is beautifully drawn and composed. These colors give it an ageless quality. I don't know how you CPers get so much done in such a short time!

Good move to leave out the other buildings. What you've done so far has really enhanced the original photo and added a lot of mood to it. Very nice indeed!

Here's a little more depth and interest.........

Hi Celia.

Beautiful work. I am also working on a cropped version of the church. I'm working in graphite. You have achieved great volume and depth...really inspired me to forge ahead.

Celia, You've got the church down very nicely. Good perspective, this is developing nicely.

Bold strong lines in the church and relaxing lines in the surroundings. Makes a nice picture.

Good job, Celia! Love that composition. The depth is coming right along and the detail is eye catching.

Celia, really liking how this is turning out. The church is wonderful, love the lines and texture in the wood. Will check back to see how you are coming.

I like the contrast between the crisp clean straight lines of the church and the wonderful expressive sky of clouds.
I saved this photo too for future work.

You obviously understand perspective and shadows. This is lovely, looks very abandoned.

I am always so late to look at these pictures but in this case it was extremely interesting to watch this wip to completion. Great Job!

Thanks for posting the progress pics- it's always so wonderful to see the painting "getting born", as it were. Flawless drawing, and beautiful handling of the wooden siding. I also really like the tire ruts in the road especially the curvy turn around. I know now how demanding those pencils can be, so I pat you on the back for the great work !

Coming right along! I particularly like the contrast between the hard, rectilinear walls of the church and the softly textured clouds. Will try to see it again later in the week. :)

This is beautiful. You have captured it really well.

Thanks for posting the update. Your church is so charming yet still feels isolated and left behind. Very lovely drawing. The sky rocks.

Very ambitious, fellow colored pencil artsit! The movement of the sky is very nice! Sets the stage for the lonely building! Good job!
