i worked on this for the last 4 days.
i took one of my old B&W photos and tried to give it some colors.
it was very funny to know that the bucket was actually red in the reality (that what my mom sais).
i'm still strugglin with the portraite...
thanks for watching & commenting:)

Looking good. . . the bucket is superb, love the rich red. what I think Teanne may be noticing is the size and shape of the eyes, make the childs face look more adult than it shoud. .. If you look closely at the size of a child's pupil, you'll notice how large it is in comparisn to the entire eye. . . it's pretty big :) So take a good look at the eyes in the picture, and make yours less long, and increase the size in the pupil, and that should really help, because everything else is fabulous.

I'm not looking either ;)

Think you are off to a great start, the bucket is indeed wonderful! Spot on what Thumper said about the eyes, might try that and I think it will all come together ! :)

Hi Halachimi - You've taken on a hard task here - is this the first time you have done skin tones in colorpencils? Very well done you have come along way in a short time. Its nice to see your improvement!

Okay................yes this baby looks kind of "old". I agree with the shape of the eyes as the others said - they need to be more round - as in your photo, and also they seem to be set to high, which is probably why this baby seems older. (Compare the measurements from the top of the ears to the corners of the eyes) Also they eyebrows are a bit to distinct - and full - recheck the eyebrows on your refrence photo - are they maybe just a suggestion of an eyebrow? Also your chubby little hands seem a bit small in proportion to the rest of you, and the shadow between the ribs and tummy should be less defined - it seems as if you are folded in two. Softer lines seem to work better for babies features - (I learned the hard way)
You've got great color and the bucket looks really nice -those reds will reflect on the babies skin too. Babies are a hard place to start, and you're doing great on this one - will you show us when it is finished?

Oh, how does your Mom like it? I bet she loves it. :D And judging from the date on your photo your about the same age as my daughter ;)

Colored pencils is not the easiest thing to correct sometimes. Maybe on this one you could leave things as they are - and try another one at a later date..............you can compare your improvement then! In the meantime if you choose to do more portraits - you can practice on the human face, and the next time it will be easier!

Also your mom will have a special place in her heart for this one!;)

TJ >> i couldn't hold it in, and tried to fix the portraite.
i hope i didnt ruin it all...
i made the eyes smaller, add some highlights on the face and darkened the red reflections.
sometimes, as said...you just have to start over again...:D

Hey there! :) I can see the changes you 've made & it still looks good to me - what do you think of the changes?? Thats the most important thing - what it is to you. We can critique it and suggest changes, but in the end it's really your call - (and we all know CPs can be a booger to fix or change) you've done well. I myself have started over a few times too! (sshhhhhhh  )
