View Full Version : Lady and Child

A common scene in southern states of Mexico, how the women natives wrap
their children to their bodies so they can have their hands free for working.

Traced from an illustration , tried some colorization and shading in PhotoShop

Very nice work Jet, I like the way you have done the b/g ( along with the lady and child ) :) , gives a feeling of movement

Very nice Jorge,

More of a watercolor feel to it. And how much you tend towards watercolors shows through here.
Very good choice, leaving the negative space between the sky and ground. It really adds some impact to the painting.

My only critique wouls have been not to use so many sharp lines in her skirt/bottom of dress. The rest of the piece is soft and flowing, and that tends towards hard and sharp.

Love the colors, definately a winner there. Good work Jorge!

this is very nice. i love the colors you've chosen.

i think i'd like the see the sky and the ground in smaller strokes, more even with the strokes used on the figure. other than that, i really like this!
