View Full Version : Chesapeake Bay
I usually paint landscapes and river scenes with oil or acrylics so this waterscape of the bay done with watercolor and gouache was a change of pace for me. It is 8x10inch and was done from a photo that I had from a trip to the bay.

That is a good composition and choice of colour. The warmth and form of the boat is in contrast to the starkness of the sky, nicely done. The water is very well handled, very convincing. Great job.
Thanks Marty, it is fun to do something different once in awhile. I may try some others to see if I can get the hang of it a little better.

The simplicity of the image and of the strokes really appeals to me. I know you are working in a different medium, but here you make it look really easy. Well done.
