I hope nobody's gonna be too upset but I didn't like my first tomato painting so I'm doing it over. And I went back with just watercolor. So far I'm happier with it. I think I've got my palette figured out. Will work on this some more tomorrow and post.

This looks like it is shaping up nicely. I agree that the colors look a little better on this one. I'm looking forward to seeing this as it progresses.

The colors are very clean here...looking great. But, aw shucks, I liked the first start too. And as requested, I'm not upset...much. Lol! :D

What a wonderful start ! Colours so clean and fresh, and the shapes are sensual !
I hadn't thought about them since last year, but in this little corner of the world the 'agripreneurs' grow lovely tomatoes that are pure yellow when ripe. Great flavour, but you have to close your eyes to enjoy them, because without the expected red colour the taste does not register on the tongue and in the nose !
I know the final will be scrumptious, but I kinda hate to see the yellows go away ! :D :)

Gorgeous finish! I'm glad I checked back in - I especially like how you handled the tomatoes in the deep shadow on the left/back!

clappy guy for you!

Whooopie!!!  Kathy, my friend, aren't you glad that you finished this??? Boy, I sure am. It's Absolutely great. The colour, the lost and found edges, wet in wet blending...it's all right here. This is the best (to me) that I've seen from you, and the others weren't slouches either.

These clean colors just scream freshness! Like I could reach into the painting and pull one out and bite into it. You've managed to make every fruit different. There are so many colors in these "red" tomatoes, and you've coordinated them beautifully. I especially like how skillfully you've used your greens. You've made this painting look easy, and I know it's not!
