I was wondering if there were any magazines on the market that are solely for Tole and Decorative Painting. Some info would be much appreciated

Hi Duncan,

Painting Magazine is sold at Wal Mart and I pick up a copy every now and then. I believe their website is www.craftideas.com

This magazine is all about decorative paint projects and patterns are included right inside the magazine.

Hi Lee

thanks very much for the info, I visited the site and it looks interesting, the magazine looks good as well. I'll have a proper look later.

Walmart also usually has Donna Dewberry instructional books, videos, paints and templates for Tole. I saw her paint on an auction on TV the other day and she looks as if she was born with that brush in her hand when she paints Tole! I have a couple of her booklets. I've also found a few at a local flea market.

Thanks Tammy

Unfortunately (as far as I am aware) there's no a Walmart over here in the UK, the painting magazine that Lee pointed out looks intersting. Some of the magazines over here are ok but they seem to lack something, some are more keen on stamping.

Its a pity that there's no decorative and folk art magazines over here

You may be able to order online at Walmart.com
I think. Even check around eBay. Someone probably has some for sale.

Aren't there any craft like stores there like Michaels or Hobby Lobby or similiar? Any of these type should carry them.

thanks tammy for the walmart link

we have a craft superstore down in England and they do mail order but they don't do a catalogue which is a bit unfortunate as the shops in the nearest city can't handle a lot due to their size they seem to handle a lot on stamping and sewing. our best option is to shop on-line.

thanks for the links Teanne, yip I do like the overthegardenwall its a nice site

Hi. I'm not sure if you are still looking, but you may want to consider joining the Society of Decorative Painters. When you join, you will automatically receive a subscription to their magazine...The Decorative Painter. I joined back in the spring, and I have been very impressed with the colorful photos and instructions using a variety of mediums. If interested, their link is www.decorativepainters.org

Hope this helps!
