I'm glad you posted at this stage, because I really enjoy seeing the work progress. It's like unwrapping a gift, one layer at a time ! Great start ! I'll be back !

Well I finally found time to finish ol George tonight. About another half an hr. I'm not exactly pleased with him but at least Hes done. I was painting on some very old canvas paper, like over twenty yrs old, and it just didnt' want to take the paint for some reason. I had to fight it all the way.

Good job, Sherry. The gull has that "feed me" glint in his eye. I like how the reflected colors smack ol' George on the bottom.

He looks as if he is saying " I didn't do it!" The whole painting has so much detail and rich color.Connie

George has a great deal of that famous "Mine ! Mine ! Mine! " outlook that these eating machines are so famous for ! You've really given him a lot of depth and contour with the shading on his body and neck !  Good job, Sherry ! :)

Yes, its a cheeky look in the eye of that seagull. So typical of these birds. I like the waves on the ocean too.

Thank you all for your comments! It does my heart good to be able to display my paintings to you all!

Although....I just had to redo this poor bird. Every time I walked by him I thought the poor guy looks like he has a hangover and a biggggg head. Or else his daddy was a pelican. So I fibbed, I wasn't done after all.

Jet, you flatter me! I try all media, but have yet to master any of it. I guess I would be better off sticking to just one but I get bored to easily.

Anyway, heres George the third.

Great color and movement in this! The energetic landscape picks up and intensifies the nervous "feed me" energy of the gull. I really like those warm reflections on the underside of the bird.
