scott,
i just did what your instructions say for the cookies, and it still didn't save them.
when you figure it out, pass me the chocolate chip ones.

I'm not sure- perhaps your cookies file is corrupt. What browser are you using?
arlene

netscape
I use Netscape 4.7 and IE5 and have no problem with cookies, always have my password remembered. Try going to preferences and deleting all cookies and then resubmitting,

I did Ron.
I think I know what the problem is, but I'm not sure how to fix it.
Art Calendar just switched over to the same type forum. I'm registered there too. Here and at AC are the only places I have this problem. I use a different name there.
Could this be the problem? And if it is, what can I do about it?

Don't think that is the problem. Each site would send its own unique cookie to be stored on your drive. they would not affect each other. Has this only happened since you started using new forum at AC,

I had the same problem, Arlene, both here and at AC, when using Netscape 4.7. After I posted one reply, then the software knew me for the rest of my visit.
I'm back to IE 5.01 now, and it's a non-problem. Of course, once you get used to Netscape, it's hard to change.
Clarification: I didn't have to go in and be recognized each time with 4.7; on my first post, though, I had to manually enter my user name and password, instead of it being already filled in, as it is with IE 5.01.

It's still a problem here and at that Other forum.
Once a day, I have to reenter my name etc.

Exactly when do you have to re-enter your name, Arlene? The first time you try to post something?
I know you've cleaned out your cookie jar, but try this: go to Preferences and delete all your cookies. Go into Profile, enter your name and password. Make no changes to your profile, but save your non-changes. Then, go back into preferences and click the button to remember your name and password for a year.
I'm grasping at straws here. I have the same problem with N 4.7. I just did the above stuff. Then I went to another site. Cleared my memory and disk cache. Came back to AC, and it knew me. Will it know me tomorrow? I'll let you know.

Well, I did what I told you to do, Arlene. I didn't wait until tomorrow to check things out, though. I cleared my cache in Netscape and then shut the program down. I fired it back up. The AC board knew me. This one didn't. I did the same things again here. Cleared cache, shut down, restarted Netscape. When I came back in here this time, it knew me. Tomorrow (which is already here) I don't know. Try what I said in my previous post. See what it does for you.
Hey, this board looks different this time! The center, bold, and underline things have moved below the message area, and they have text now instead of icons. Hmmmm.

Here it is another day, Arlene, and this board knew me again. Try those steps above.

Hi, Arlene. Just doing a test here to see if there's a discrepancy between Netscape and font size tags in this forum software. I'll come back in and edit the font tags out in a minute.
Here's size 7 that is bolded, with the bold tags enclosed by the font tags.

Really Ron,
If you're gonna do a test, do it where you'll get graded, like on the test thread I started.

Arlene: I have to type my id information when I first log on to WC because I have more than one i.d. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif you do too. At Artistnation I only have one I.D. , so AN remembers me because there is only one of me. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I think this is the problem. WC just is making sure who you are before she (lol) commits herself. If you don't switch back and forth, then it is no problem. How's that?
