Hello,
I have a crazy project... I want to make a copy of a boat from a John Chancellor painting "Final Bid" in a large format (50x65 cm). I am still unsure about the media, but I started a preliminary work with CP (colored pencils) and it is already very time consuming in a small format (about 20x21 cm). I'll keep you updated !
Other works from John Chancellor can be seen on :

Hi Anne,
I'll be eagerly following this one. You have picked a difficult subject, a real challenge but I'm sure you shine through in the end. John's work is really outstanding, a master of the subject matter.

Very nice start , one small point is the outriggers seem a bit too wide, otherwise this is going to be great------------well done-------Alan

In fact I started this project already a while ago: initial sketch (http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/Projects/index.php?cmd=view_image&entry_id=27461).
For this drawing, I have cheated... I used a tracing paper, which allowed me to make very quickly two copies, one for myself and another for my 4-year old son so that he can color too...

Bon vent ! (in French in the text, literraly good wind, translation found in the dictionnary : Fair journey!)

It's looking good so far, Anne. Now, can your son guarantee that that's a *REAL* treasure map?
