Rita...this is wonderful! I love everything about it...the pose...the smile...the cherries! Beautiful! Was this a commission?

so good to see your work again
absolutely beautiful colours
and economy of expression
just delightful in every way
your strokes reveal that you've
been running off to the mountains
with cezanne on the weekends

thanks everyone for the nice comments!!
I have been busy trying to make a living. This is a commission. I do a few portraits a year. Most of my work is landscapes. I have been painting a lot and made some progress this year.
I am happy to be back!!

I would consider it a pleasure to paint such a "sweet" subject! Not all commissions are painful! Thanks for sharing this piece with us!

yes, it was a pleasure painting this portrait.
I used to do the same, everytime there were cherries around when I was a child.(I still do sometimes. LOL!)
It has also been a pleasure to be back at the critique forum.:)

I used to do the same thing with the cherries.
Brings back memories. Sigh!
This is as supurb as all of the rest!
It also has a smear or red across the face that puts me in
mind of my youngest grandaughter when she sticks a knife
in the jelly.
Your work continues to inspire!
