This appealed to me as soon as I saw it - decided to do the actual clock tower with pen and ink as well as a wash - took about 45 mins all told

Great job! The complementary colors work well and I especially like the fence.

Pat, I think pen & ink with w/c suits Big Ben just perfectly!

The ink really enhanced the watercolor here. Do you paint first or use the pen first?

Wonderful, Pat. Big Ben is really set back in distance by the strong fence. I like that pen and ink with watercolour.

Thanks everyone - just looking at it again can see the tower is a bit off line but welllllllllll......lol.

I put the ink on first then paint over with the colour but I was sooooo tempted to do the same to the railings but realised that it would not help with the perspective.

Thanks again everyone

Fascinating perspective on Ben, looking up through the strong fence ! I really like your idea of leaving the fence as pure wc, then adding the sense of importance to BBen by using pen and ink ! Well done !

Dramatic watercolour. The fence really adds to the drama and perspective.
