What a lovely spectrum of colours in the skies ! :clap: :clap: That red across the field is striking- I'm very interested to see what story will unfold as you finish this lovely painting !

In removing the original greenery, you've given it a strong panorama feel ! :clap: That said, I did like the complementary colour of the green patch against the strong red. :confused: Did you maybe just crop it in the scan , or did you really eliminate it ?

Dot: I felt it was necessary to eliminate it. It was the one thing that wasn't in the original photo of the scene. I had put it in and it just didn't work for me. It was a distraction to what was happening above! I think it's a more serene painting now! :)

Love the red fields too! Big Sky country is so different than here in the hills. Both beautiful but in such different ways! :clap:

This was a fun one to do...& I learned a lot in the process!!! And that's what I love about painting! The more you do, the better you are at it (hopefully) Ha!! :)

Oh boy! That land is on fire on my screen - but I like even/even better without the green!!! :)

It is a lot better without the green. It kind of stopped the eye from the rest of the painting!! :)

Wow! I can tell you had as much fun with this photo as I did. I love your colors! I also am intrigued by your curved horizon. The fisheye look makes it seem even more endless. Definitely a painting many people would love to hang on their wall!
