Hi there. I've been lurking here for a few weeks now, ever since someone shared this forum with me. I didn't realize it existed, so I was very happy to learn of it. I'm a Christian & feel that my talent is a gift from God. I've been trying to use my talent for Him & just lately have been expanding my horizons in regards to my art. I normally do commissioned portraits, but I've decided to try painting other things & I'm enjoying it immensely.

This is an angel I started this weekend & worked on more today. I'll include both scans so you can see the changes I made to it. I'd like to try doing some more angels, maybe even a bit more abstract next time. I really enjoy doing abstract art. Thanks for looking & any C&C will be much appreciated :)

The frist thing an angel says always seems to be "fear not". I think if I ran into an angel that looked like these I too would be afraid. lol.
This is certianly a different view of angels than I have ever seen.
Glad to see you venturing into new territory.
Bob
PS Have you ever noticed that angels are always portraied as ladies and the only two names given are male. They are almost always large and frightning too. I always think of them as huge warrior type beings.

Welcome to the forum Mumma:) It is great having new people chime in and show their work or talk about their beliefs:) Which one is the reworked piece? I really like the one on the right. It is soft and gives the feeling of light shining down.

Bob, I know what you mean about how angels are portrayed. They are warriors to an extent, because they are always battling evil. If you have not read This Present Darkness do so. It will give you a whole new prosepctive. It is a fictional story, but hits home with most people that read it. My pastor in Texas filled the bookstore with the book so that we could all get a copy. I have read it more than once, usually when I am feeling down.
