Everyone please keep me in your thoughts and prayers today. Surgery is at 9:30. Doc says I should be done and home in just a few hours. Biggest fear is the anesthetic. I am a major control freak and don't know how I'll handle being sort of awake and totally out of control. Talked to the admitting nurse today and she told me it will be ok. I will be aware of whats going on but I won't give a hoot. I would make a lousy drug addict.

Hey, Sherl, do you have a little music player & earphones you can take along and play something you love to hear? It can be a lot more fun, and sometimes the docs like it, too. (We'd really like it if you take pictures the way Rob did, too. :))

Good Early Morning! I am up and about earlier than usual! Walt will be so surprised when he gets home from feeding the pigs! I'm even thinking about getting dressed - right after I have some of Sunny's coffee and upside down cake!! Thanks, Sunny!!!

Looks like another day of rain here - no garage sale today. Wonder how I'll get groceries now. Well, there's a few cans left in the pantry and a chocolate chip cookie mix so all is not too bad - meat in the freezer too.

I posted a new Whatsit this morning. See if you can guess it!

Sunny , your blue birds are so beautiful! We don't get those here. We do get Mountain Bluebirds and they're pretty wild and hard to get pics of. Doug is ALWAYS grumpy - he spent 28 years as a bank manager and feels it is his right to give orders and be in charge of everything - and Walt and I take the brunt of it. When money gets tight he gets intolerable because he can't be so high and mighty. He can't seem to do any job unless he has a peon doing the joe-job end of it. And when things go wrong he's not too nice with the attitude OR the language. I've started walking away and leaving him to do it himself rather than suffer his abuse.

Wendy ~ Did you mean TarBal's birthday was on the 24 or the 25? I understood you meant the 25. The Mind Body and Spirit Festival sounds like something I would really enjoy. Was there anything to take pics of? Bright tents? Interesting displays? Colourful people? Thanks for the clarification on your house in the tropics ... maybe that's where I should take my snow shovel ... do you think they would know what it is? :D

Victoria ~ Good luck on your marks today! I've seen the previews for the new Shrek movie on TV but it's been YEARS since I was inside a movie theatre! Don't know the first thing about Harry Potter - except I wish I was J K Rawlings (?) !!!!!!!!! She must be a very rich woman by now!

Hi all ....again

Yes Sue Tar_Ball's birthday is the 25th and I think he has been having a cruisy day. The festival was indoors but there were some very colourful characters there. It does sound a bit like your harmony festival.
The atmosphere would have fel;t better if it had been outdoors. I did not take many pics. Tried to photo the belly dancers but did not use flash as I did not want to disturb them. Cant post photos as I did not get model
releases.
I would rather be sawing logs too but unfortunately I am still playing mums taxi service. Ah well as they say in the classics...this too will pass.
Brekkie on the balcony was rather nice. The weather was lovely ......... came over cloudy and a bit damp later but other than that
was good.
Unfortunately I missed last nights sunset, but this mornings sunrise may have been in part due to the smoke haze in the sky. When I first spotted it, it looked like a water color painting.

Shirl you are in my thoughts though by now it should be over and done with. Hope you came through with flying colours.

Goodmorning Everybody, Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah! I've just spent the first night in my own bed for the past 5 weeks - Marvellous! Actually came home late yesterday but chest was somewhat too painful where lines had been removed for making sitting at a computer an easy task.

((((((Shirl))))) Our thoughts are with you, love. You'll be surprised at the anaesthetic, you really don't give a hoot. You'll probably be all over it and back home by the time you read this, but just in case - Have no fear - Rob's been there. Although you are aware of what's going on you don't feel a thing in the way of pain. In fact, when I had the line put in I was chatting away to the chap and didn't even realise he'd done it!! How weird is that? Thinking of you and looking forward to seeing you back home again.

Hi to all on wetcanvas today. The sun is shining and due to parent’s days of or illness I have no children until 3.30pm, I feel sort of lost. It gives me chance to catch up on lots of little jobs I keep putting of whilst the kids are here.

Shirl...thinking of you. Having just gone throught the whole anesthetic thing last week, let me just say that I actually just got this feeling of peace over me. I thought too I would feel freaky...but I didn't. Mind you, I was totally knocked out, so that feeling lasted only seconds...lol.

I'm finally home. Surgery was delayed till 1:30 because of two emergency C-sections. Both mommies and babies doing well. Anywhos that was the longest wait of my life. I'm feeling pretty good right now. Had a bit of a major panic attack when the nurse started putting the IV in. I had asked to be numbed but got the usual "we don't like to do that because it makes your veins spasm." Took one look at the vicious thing she was going to try to poke into my tiny little hand and freaked. Took about 20 minutes to calm me down, got the numbing stuff and all was well. Nurse said if I ever need it again just tell them I pass out and they won't give me any flack.
Anywhos surgery was late but quick. Started at 1:30 and we were out of there and sitting at Perkos having lunch by 3. I think once the pain meds start to wear off I'll be in a bit of pain but have my supply close by so I should be fine.
Thank you soooooooo much for the prayers, hugs, thoughts and all else. I felt you there with me.
Now I think I'll take a nap.

Forgot to say.....Maria I've been praying for your sister.

Good Morning (or Good Night) depending on which coast you might be on. Big healing hugs for everyone who needs them and encouraging hugs to anyone else who would like one, and a special one to Ray just because you're you! Hope everyone's day went better than expected! I'm still figuring out what going away for 10 days does to the schedule and workload, but by the time I get the hang of it, it'll off to SC for two weeks. I really timed these two vacations very well, I must say! Okay, it's "not until" July for that trip, but that's very cool! Then it'll maybe for ages and ages before I go away again. Sigh. Not wishing my life away though, besides I have lots of "weekend escapes" in mind if I can only pull it off. I'm determined to finally get another trip to NY for the weekend accomplished. I've been trying to do that for a year now, but I won't go there alone and my friends who like NY keep not being available. Oh, well.

I'm tired and babbling so I'll spare you this chatter and say "good night!"

I got appointed to a new position today! I am now the Superintendant in charge of the Arts Division at the County Fair! It's a permanent postion as long as I want it & it's no pay of course but I will make a good network out of it & it'll look good on the resume! There is a small budget & I get to make as much out of it as I'd like. First thing I did was add a sculpture division cuz all they had was Photography & painting! I also chose K-Tee as my Asst. Superintendant! And first thing this morning I sold another sculpture out of the coffee shop where I have my solo show & a photo too! It was my most expensive sculpture so I was pleased & the folks were from Portland, Oregon-just passing through. Oh yeah & I fit in an hour of pic taking-turtles & ducks! So I had a really nice but busy day! :D
