Greetings, all. Katju -- Thanks for the wonderful trip through Nebraska. I really enjoyed hanging out here.

Graphite, 8x5 inches, 2 hours.

(And a belated but heartfelt thanks to all who stopped by my thread for a visit and kind words last week. I had no time during the week to respond or leave comments.)

I like how you handled the clouds. I can really picture them in the sky. Your road gives a nice feeling of depth as it disappears in the distance. Nice job.

Great textures and depth. I can see the different lengths of grasses.

I love this. I was afraid to do a landscape in grafite but you pulled it off very well.

Nice depth by use of perspective principles. I especially like how the clouds recede. great textures also.

Rosyln , great job. Like the clouds and the movement in the grass(weeds), really very nicely done.

Hi Roslyn,

I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to Nebraska, Roslyn :) This was one of my favorite reference photos and it looks like it was a popular one this weekend. You've got a nice variety of texture on this lonely road...

What fun to see so many versions of the same reference photo. This takes on a new life in graphite. Agree that you have shown the perspective well. I will have to study that.

Nice and free - lovely feeling of storm clouds gathering, good recession - and nice use use of texture. :)

This translates to a graphite drawing surprisingly well. I thought that image was all about color; you've made it about texture and space. Nicely done!

Maureen and Wendy -- Thanks! I'm glad that my texture and spacial effort showed. It's always a thrill to see what you colorful types can do with paints and pastels. But it's fun for me to give these a whirl in the many shades of graphite!
