View Full Version : Rags and Friend

The dog is this scene belongs to an internet friend of mine and is really quite large, but I thought it would be fun to paint her with this little boy and NOT have her tower over him, lol.
I did this in Painter using the camel and bristle spray brushes for most of it, and some artists brushes for the foliage. The background was airbrushed:)

great technique for your fiends furry friend. I like the way you have handled all that hair.
Great colors! Nice theme! :)

BRAVO!!! What a marvelous scene, a boy and his best friend!!!

Gloria aka_Mother Nature, your scenes are magical! I agree with jet about the imbalance of detail between the doggy and the boy. Still, I love it!

Thank you for the very nice comments:) I really did have the details in the child's face, but much got lost in resizing and making copies for posting. Here is close cut of the boy's face.

This really is fantastic!! Are you going to frame this one?

Thank you for asking Michael,
I may try to paint a companion piece with a little girl, and if it is pleasing then I just might have them both printed:)

Cute painting Gloria. Since the dogs head is so big it must be a sheepdog or bearded collie? I had an OE sheepdog years ago, what great dogs but so much grooming.
The proportions of the little boy seem off somewhat. Hands to feet for one thing.

The boy's proportions were about as good as I could get, lol!
Rags is a mixed breed, but the owner feels certain there is some oes in her.
She is owned by Caroluk from Plus PSP:)

Gloria! Oh wow, you are a master at this digi art stuff. :) I love the detail on the dog. Hoe long does it take you on average to finish a piece like this?

Thank you Leslie:)
This one took about 3 days, but mostly because I didn't have much time to paint each day. I had a clear picture in my mind of what I wanted it to look like so it really was a "smooth" piece.
It's when I "think" I know where i'm going with something and it doesn't quite work.
