Painting I Final Project

This was our final assignment for Painting I: take the work of a master, and insert your own portrait. The painting had to be the same size as the original, and done in the same medium. I chose Manet's "Mme. Manet at the Piano", 16" x 18" in oil. Shown is the original, and my humble attempt at it.

Wonderful job. I have a classmate who did a Velazquez copy in pastel and inserted his own face on the costumed figure. It was a brilliant idea! I instantly smiled like I did with this! Great job!

That's very successful - you have every right to be pleased with it. Your head's an improvement on the one in the Manet!

This is really nice. Very Well done. I don't think I could have done it. I don't look good in a long dress or a short one either for that matter. :) Even if I did it would be so hard to find a purse to match my hat.
