This is a sketch of a picture #1 crop. Itís 8 1/2" x 11" Graphite. This took me about 1.5 hours. This is the first WDE I have done in almost 20 weeks! :crying: It was great to get my hand back in! I've missed this and hope to be here again next week. Thank-you for some great pictures it was a hard choice to make. The other one of the little boy drinking from the birdbath I have saved for later!

This is a lovely sketch - you've captured their postures and character very nicely! Good job!
And yes, it feels SO good to do these WDE's!

So glad you joined the WDE this week -- this is a lovely sketch! You've captured the gentle way children so often live in our world, as if they're in a parallel universe. :)

Thank-you all for looking and commenting. It was great to be back. I remember the first one of these I did and how nervous I was. Was it going to look good, would I get it done on time? Now itís like coming to a party with all your old friends.

Great detail showing the attitudes of each child. I am getting more and more respect for good drawing.

Another one in graphite! Woohoo! This is only my sixth WDE, so I missed your earlier WDEs. Therefore, I say: Welcome! I love the way you've combined the more detailed areas with the dreamy, blended areas. The girl is the focus here and you've really made her stand out (love the braid). Makes me wonder what she's saying (he's doing a lot of listening!).

I thought of doing a crop like this, too, but couldn't have done as well as this! They look very intent, very focused.

I like this! It conveys the sense of a moment nicely! You did good!
I was also attracted by this scene, it's like we can jump for a moment into kids' universe, as FriendCarol said.
20 weeks? You saved plenty of your time this way :)

Thank-you Everyone! Sorry it took me so long to answer. I have been having trouble with headaches lately. I am beginning to think I need new glasses! Anyway thank-you all!

You've captured the intimacy between the two well - totally oblivious to the rest of the universe! :)

This is a very charming drawing. You have caught the moment between these two very well. Welcome back Mazie, I remember seeing your name here, when I first joined WC. Sharron
