View Full Version : WDE 22 May Almost a Butterfly

I have not done any painting in digital since forever, at least 5 years. But I am going out for the evening and wanted to try this for a little while. It is about 1 hour's work, doodling with a mouse, since I never got really into digi painting and don't have a tablet. And I was on the phone most of that time, so it more or less did itself. Fun.

Very cute! I love the detail you were able to portray in the left foreground plant. :D

Neat! Good palette, and I also like the contrast in hard & soft edges, & detailed almost-realism vs. abstract.

It's very pretty, Connie. I like the contrast of colors. They go well together. I'm glad you were able to participate.

great work connie--your style is really there--everyone should work digitally now and then --it opens you up to new ideas--agree??? great butterfly!

Thanks to all for the kind comments. I am trying to look at everyone else's efforts, but there are so many - a good sign that this is meaningful to many people.

This is a real treat. The colors are a delight, in the butterfly and beyond. Love how you rendered that plant (I had looked at that, and looked at that ...). I should head on over to the digital thread to see how this is done. You must have been having one inspiring phone conversation! :music:

You did this with a slidy old mouse, and while you were on the phone yet! Imagine what you'll do with a tablet and stylus and actually paying attention!
:D :D It's delightful!

I'm glad you dropped in even if short of time, and I'm amazed at what you have done with the digi-art ! It's totally foreign to me and yet it fascinates me what you can do with it ! Love the colours, and the smeary, slide-y strokes like a brush full of juicy oil paint !

Interesting shapes! I'm with xreader - love the plant on the left!
Digital stuff is useful too - desktop backgrounds at a breeze :)
