Hi Helen,

I like your painting, I really like the expression in the eyes and the mouth. Really profound, (a little like the Mona Lisa). I feel deep inner peace in that expression, almost religious.

I am wondering (and forgive me if this is a really stupid question) why your model is naked and bald. Any meaning to this? When I look at it, I feel like there's something there I'm not understanding.

I really didnt understand the "message" in this painting. I also question the baldness and nakedness. If this was to symbolize America after the bombing... I dont think it made a diffinitive statement. The flag was well done. Perhaps and eagle holding bolts of lightning in his talons would have got the message across...

VERY interesting painting !

The flag on its own is beautiful, and the figure is also beautiful in its own way. But I agree with the others, that the juxtaposition is very thought provoking. Can't wait to see your explanation.

Could it be that these terrorist acts have "stripped" away all the outer stuff, leaving us with the beautiful american spirit ?
