Hi all

I've recently been contemplating getting into the world of community art projects or similar activities, I have done some voluntry work in a school but that buzz AND being paid too would be quite nice!
however Im not sure where to go, how to start, what it might entail. how often work like that comes by or what I could do exactly. I like painting but how to shift into a big poject seems like a big jump and im not sure how to get from here to there.

any advice (especially relating to the UK) would be appreciated.

thanks

Gav

I suggest that you contact whoever is in charge of the local parks and recreation. Usually they have a summer arts program, ours our federally funded and always looking for artists.

Last summer I taught mosaic art to at risk kids and we had a ball, breaking dishes, painting tiles, creating stepping stones. This summer those stepping stones will be placed on the wall of their new art studio.

If your area does not have, something similar, contact local politicians and make a proposal.

Good Luck!
