The central figure embodies the feeling of confusion, anger and helplessness I think we all feel.

I see in this what I hope for the future of art and life. I see something that makes the point and lets the paint follow. that is the way I hope we all act, that is the way i hope american art goes.

I hardly know what to say...

I just spoke to my neice...
gratefully, she is ok...for now
she will participate and help however possible...
buildings still collapsing
bolb threats circulateing (stupid thugs)
there are refrigerator trucks parked outside her building...
or body parts...
this is serious
a war zone...
I do hope that everyone at the "club" here

And also, quite apart from the tragedy and all this painting expresses, congratulations on conveying such incredible emotion in your work. It's not easy to do this so successfully.

I could not bring myself anywhere near this subject...
I have been painting scenes of beauty in between phone calls and news reports... So far, all our family is safe...
