Thought I give people a try in this one. Very exciting to watch sailors when they are hiking out. Want to do more of the same with variety in a race.
Do you think it needs more action? This is not the comlete picture more sail shows and the right side of the boat shows more also.2003maryann

The composition on this is terrific in showing action. A couple of suggestions: Show a bit more spray on the left side of the boat. Strengthen your shadows to emphasize not only the bright sunlight but the lean of the people.

You are apparently very talented. As much as I would be willing to offer input, I'm afraid you have exceeded my level of ability.

Might I ask if you are in the US military?

Edited to say: Well no. I guess you wouldn't be on a sailboat in that case.

Hi Mary Ann,
Great composition with great rendering really gets the viewer right into the action. The feel of speed is palpable. Terrific.

I agree with the others Maryann. I think you did a wonderful job capturing the action in this one. I like the intensity on the faces. Great job.

If it gets more action the boat will flip.

Don't touch it.

WOW! Thank you one and all for all your comments and suggestions.
I think I will pursue more hiking out scenes in the future. I will take into consideration the shadowing but in another painting. No I am not in the military, never have been. Left the US in 1997, did a transalantic on my 34ft sailboat and ended up in the caribbean in 1998. Been here ever since. Actually took up watercolors in Grenada and am self taught, since 1998.
I have to admit poster board was easy in how the paint went on so smoothly.
Maybe I was just lucky but I enjoyed this one very much.
