View Full Version : some innocence in a crazy world

working on this picture in the middle of world crisis, suicide airplains and falling towers. a bit ironic.
i drew it with a refrence photo of myself (B&W, turning yellow, photo , very very old one) and h4 & b2 pencils.
i'm afraid the scanner 'killed' some of the bright shadows. sorry about that.
waiting for your comments. thanks.

I have found if I scan in color, and then change the scan to greyscale, I retain more of the gradations. perhaps you tried it?

the edge development is a bit distracting, the light and shadow are great, the topic is a relief.

Refreshing subject indeed!
I would cut a llittle of the space above the head. It is distracting and adds nothing to the drawing. Otherwise, good job!

suzie & Jerry, thanks for your comments.
will it help to the draw if i'll make the far area of it brighter ?
or maybe darker ?

Charming relief... 2nd post looks much better...
I see you are from Israel, a country that has been at "war" much longer than we... Any advice on how to cope?

thanks Jeanine.
how to cope ?
it seem like the americans have great resistence.
i saw on television people wave flags and "thankyou" signs to the rescue forces. i was realy moved.
you'll have to come back to normal life, no matter how hard it is. it will help america to pass the trauma.
be strong.

Found that after this week of chaos, pain and heartache, my children and grandchildren and their innocence somehow make life better again. God bless our children!!

This is a collage of 2 of my grandchildren
