This is a bug screen for a tractor trailer, it fits on the front of a truck to protect everything under the grill from all of the bugs. I have been painting these for a few years now. The material is identical to window screen. I will take another picture of it later when it's on the truck. After I was done painting it, I sprayed the board black, re-mounted the bugscreen and photographed it. I do this to make sure I didn't miss anything and that all of the picture shows up. Remember, what you are looking at is actually about 1/5 of the information because the screen is about 4/5 void area.

I like this Penny. Blue KW? I still haven't done anything with mine. I did manage to buy a hub cover from the chrome shop, sanded and primed. Now...if I could just ;) and get that paint on it, I'd be in business!

How about your other project. The big one.

Have a great weekend!

Penny this looks fantastic!

I love that pose! It's the "chase me" stance! Did you use Sheba as a reference?

About how big is it and what paint did you use on it! How do you protect it?

I don't have the dimension written down anymore, it's 26" high. The paints are urathanes, clear coat when done. The screen was white when I bought it, I used black vinyl paint for the vinyl band around it and spray paint black for the screen. This is done for both the front and back side. Then I airbrush the picture on it. Yes, this is Sheba. I uncooperative one, I kept trying to get pictures of her but she just kept jumping around, this pic came out (the only one) and I instantly knew I had it.

Cat, the truck is black. The background of the bugscreen resembles the background of the mural on the back of the sleeper.

The big project is the sleeper that sits in my shop. No, I haven't had any time to work on it. The fact is I don't have the time to do everything by myself. It would take 4 people who work for beer and BBQ a weekend to finish sanding, body work, priming and base painting. Do I have any takers? I can't wait until it's base painted, one is the monster is taking up half of one bay in my shop, the other is I can't wait to start painting on it. I (hopefully) have as long as I want to paint

Penny, that is fantastic!! What a neat idea! You really did a great job on the wolf! Incidently, the title, "Wanna Play?" is the exact same title (and spelling) that I had named one of my canvas paintings (on my website)! It's of a kitten and mouse. Funny, huh? :)

Sheba is a siberian husky, we call her a woof because she's so close to a wolf. I've had our cat on the front of a screen in the past, it was her turn and rightfully so. When the truck comes in with the screen covered in bugs she likes to go and pick off a few snacks. It was funny one day we went to go get a load with the truck and I had 4 different trucks in there sporting bug screens I've painted.

Alpine, what make dealership do you work for?

Penny, sorry I called it a wolf! It does look more like a Siberian Husky. We have had a couple of neighbors who have had part-wolves as pets, who thought their home was our place. I sure loved those dogs! One was pure white and looked exactly like the white wolf pictures you see. His name was "Wolfie". But anyway, I sure like the bug screen!

Huskies are as close to a wolf as you can get. I have a wolf on one side of the truck and a husky on the other, quite a few people call the husky a wolf and the wolf a husky. Their markings are very close and their size is proportional so it's an easy mistake for people to make. Because I paint so many wolves a husky is the perfect dog for me to have.

Thanks for the compliment on the painting. I just replaced a few of the clips and mounted it on the truck but the truck is still in the shop so no pics yet.

Hi Cat!

Penny, I don't see any rabbits in this painting! Along the same theme as Maryls cat and mouse painting, I think there needs to be rabbits (scarred) in the next one! LOL!!!!
