Here's a couple of sunrises done in Tortola, BVI.

Maybe lacking colour?

What do you think?

Yes, I do think that it lacking color. There are so many beautiful colors in the sunrise. It is absolutely the only thing I would change.

Hi Peter,
Morning light is cooler than evening light but here it is too cool. Perhaps a high latitude winter sunrise but in the warm tropics I think you need some more reds and yellows to heat things up a little. As judy said, everything else is fine.

Thanks Judy & Marty!

I remember these paintings were done from photos taken around 6 a.m. after a rainy night. You can see from these two examples how the colour spreads into the landscape as time goes on. As they say, in the dark, all cats are grey! :), however, this doesn't necessarily make for a good painting!
