View Full Version : Gulf Stream squall

This painting is of a cutter rigged sailboat I used to own. I'm making a single handed passage to Bermuda from CT. USA. The painting depicts a gulf stream squall in the making and it's time to reduce sail.
12"X 16" acrylic on masonite. I had to reduce it to up load it but the original shows more water and sky.

This is great, I feel the rough weather, and love how you painted the mood of this painting..

Personal experience is reflected in the very threatening sky, a sight unwelcome to most sailors, although there is still a lot of canvas up there to make things very interesting when that wind hits! Nice work, the sense of anticpation is very much there.
