Talking of the drama of the sea, here's a couple of attempts to capture a wave! :)

The loose strokes and splashes of colour again very successful in portraying the energy and movement, the wildness of the waves. Well done.

The first one was done with a lot of masking fluid, which results in a lot of action - maybe too much? For this reason, I used no masking fluid in the second one, trying to get a more solid wave.
I suppose "success" is finding the right balance - as in most things! :)

Sorry - it's a while since I did these paintings, and I see that I must have used a bit of masking fluid in the second, especially to get the spray on top of the wave.

maybe you'd like to read the comment I just made on the "Supply & Pilot Boats" thread. I think that could also apply here.
Would be interested in your (and other's) opinions in this respect.
