Hi

Thanks for the remakes about my simple study posted earlier.

Here's another: Apple tree acrylic on canvas 16x20 inch

Wow. That's very nice. I love the simplicity and yet so full of life. I would hang that in my dining room.

Hi,
It is a very beautiful painting!
The detail is marvellous.
:D

Do you think it might be a good idea to darker the background (to create more contrast) so that the apple pops right out at the viewer?
:)

Or, perhaps you prefer the softness and subtlety that your painting conveys at present?
:)

Nice Painting, like the color.

Lovely apple. I could touch it. :D

I agree with Nina that the background needs to be altered. It is too much like the apple.

Oooh, I get to be a voice of dissent today! I like the subtlety of shift from cool to warm in the background/apple. Beautiful work.

This is a very nice painting. I saw your other post too. I like these "simple studies". :)

Hello

Thanks for all the feedback

I thought like Nina and Carol about darkening the background but then thought I would loose the dark leaf on the left or the decayed leaf on the right so I kept it as it is now.

I think this year I will concentrate on fruit and other still life subjects.

Thanks again
Andrew

I like it itoo :)

I think the background might add a bit more to the apples impact if it was greyed off a touch...

Don't you dare touch that background. I personally think the current combination is responsible for the serenity of the painting.

Well it looks like we are pretty evenly split over the background, so I think I will just say I feel strongly both ways. (Really I love it just the way it is.) Another delicous work of art.

Wow! Fantastic work! Simple compositions make the strongest statement. This one is no exception!
