Kevin, beautiful piece of work!..and the message. I have guessed before reading through this that it isn't always a guarantee a ship will pull through a storm eventhough they see the light. Growing up on the coast of Florida, I have heard the biggest problems for ships happen near shore and we have a historical Coast Guard station closer to the beach than the light itself, actually a few miles apart.

God is our beacon, but will we make it? Being prepared for those storms in our life will strengthen our guarantees as we alone are imperfect, eventhough we know where we are to go. Same as a ship must prepare for the unthinkable to make the journey a better success to safety. I think that is why we are commanded to know Him better so such ocassions would be less threatening.

However, your meaning is quite fitting and well understood. Glad you shared your piece, it is a job well done!

LOL- A bad day at the beach! That's funny. Love it Kevin. And the water is so attractive- like the special way you added the details of the waves.

Thanks, Stoy and River for the nice comments. This was an Illustration that I basically threw together in a couple of hours for our churches Missions Conference, and boy, has it created a lot of great discussion!! Interestingly enough the discussion began the very night that I gave my airbrushing to the LORD and asked Him to somehow use it if He could for His honor and glory.

The missionary that night preached that we really couln't give anything to God until we knew what we had to give Him. Moses had a stick, David had a pocket full of rocks and a sling, a little boy had five loaves and two small fish, but God took those very small Items THAT THEY HAD and said " Yeah, I can use that! " So I said that night, o.k., I have an airbrush, LORD, use it any way you can. God honored that simple prayer before I even got home that night. How exciting !

God has blessed you very much, Kevin! What a delight to have Him use your image and your testimony. I read the whole thread and it was refreshing to see how solid your faith is, how much the image was grounded in the reality of Christ. His word is a strong tower that we run to. Thank you for sharing honestly your love of the Lord.

We often don't listen after we make a request of God. You certainly did, and it came out beautiful. The letting go, and letting God in the drivers seat is probably the hardest thing any of us has faced. You opened up and allowed God to work through you. This is a testimony of faith.
