I agree with Dee! This is quite a fascinating painting - it shows lots of intensity - scary storm that.

All I could say was "wow is that powerful". Excellent - gives me lots of thought as I admire your choice of colors.

Dramatic..that's what comes to my mind,,,,such brilliance of color...so do you like working on the black . I bought several packs of 10 sheets of Canson in a variety of colors, but not black.. Guess I need to go to the swap forum. Good work!

HOLY COW!! Makes me feel like I DON'T want to be there. Very dramatic. I may have to try the black. Kate

FanTAStic! Sent chills up my spine thinkin' of the poor person in the boat! But I also love storms, and this looks like a doozey! Great drama in this one! I agree...WOW!

Oh Carla, it is wonderful! I too was thinking how dramatic and powerful it is.

I agree with everyone--this is an awesome painting!!
I love storms...and I hate them too. I am a boater on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland and we have storms that like to sneak up on you...this gives me that feeling of dread but at the same time that fascination with the power, beauty & drama of nature & storms!
Excellent work!!

Thank you everyone. Really glad you like it cause I wasn't sure if it was just too dark, but judging by the reaction must be ok. Appreciate your comments!

Great scale, great effect.

Black paper can be hard to handle since it gives instant gratification of drama that can dwindle as the black is covered. It is also hard to achieve this kind of atmospheric feel on black.
