Donna, this is gorgeous! So silky and warm and cuddly! Isn't the RIL a wonderful resource? I get almost all my references from there.

I think it's terrible!
Not the painting, but the fact that I can't paint as good as you. lol
What a beautiful piece. You have such a talent for making you painting come to life. I absolutely love it, and am dying with envy.

Don :)

P.S. I too am a self taught artist, but unfortunately I am a lousy teacher.

Have to agree with everything everyone has said. You have truly done a great job.

However, I feel you haven't quite managed to capture that look that dogs give humans when they are doing something totally stupid like wanting to take a photo of them. Checking your painting back to the ref photo, the shadows on the nose are missing and on the dog's left (our right) ear. Also, I wonder whether the dark shadows around both ears are too sharp. I think this painting will really benefit from stronger contrasts. It looks great as it is now, but I think with a few minor adjustments it could blow the operating system on my computer with its brilliance.

Great job, Donna!!!
The dog's fur looks amazingly life-like.
I want to reach out and pet her, knowing I will feel the wonderful softness of her fur.

I really like this, I have such a soft spot for dogs, especially cutie pies like this one. I just love the way you handled her ears.

The contrast of the fur on her face and the fur on her ears is amazing. You really know how to paint!

Thanks for sharing!
